This "Dufftown Glenlivet 12 Year Old" is a rare pure malt whisky bottled by Arthur Bell & Sons in the 1980s. This precious old bottle allows you to enjoy the single malt spirit that was used as the main key malt for the famous blended Scotch whisky "Bell's," the predecessor to the current "The Singleton of Dufftown." This series mainly consisted of "Dufftown Glenlivet 8 Year Old," with "Dufftown 12 Year Old" produced in small quantities.
Bottles from this period are primarily made up of malts distilled in the 1970s, and are characterised by a rich, complex old-style quality compared to current products. They were released in the late 1980s, when the premium grade label was abolished in Japan, and were bottled for duty-free shops in 1,000ml (1 litre) sizes, which were rare for single malts at the time.
The nose is elegant and elegant, showcasing the sweetness of blackcurrant (cassis), dried fruit, vanilla, and toffee, with a rich sherry influence. The palate is characterized by a perfect balance of sweetness and spice, with tropical fruit sweetness complemented by beeswax and woody spice, resulting in a rich and smooth mouthfeel. The finish is refreshing with orange peel-like tannins and a lingering warm spice, showcasing the complexity of good old Speyside malt. This is a collector's item that allows you to enjoy the unique character of Bell's historic malt for all ages.
As this is an old bottle, the liquid level and label may show signs of aging. There may also be sediment in this whiskey. Please check the condition before purchasing.
