This bottle is a rare Ballantine's 30 Year Old, which was in circulation during the 1980s, when it was still a special cru. This bottle is characterized by the horse flag in the center of the label, which is blue on both sides (blue-blue flag), and is known as the pinnacle of premium blended whisky at the time.
Thanks to its long aging period, it combines a rich malty flavor with a complex, mature aroma that sets it apart from current products. The aroma is layered with toasted malt, caramel sauce, ripe pear and orange peel, and a deep, peaty aroma reminiscent of damp earth. The mouthfeel is mellow and viscous, with the sweetness of honey and raisin butter, a moderate woodiness, and a dry, smoky flavor that lingers for a long time, creating a rich, well-balanced, classic taste.
