Holmegaard Glasværk is the oldest glass brand in Scandinavia, founded in 1825 with permission from the Danish royal family. Its official name is Holmegaard Glasværk, and it has a history of nearly 200 years. When it was first established, it started out by producing glass for home use, and in the mid-20th century, it collaborated with famous designers such as Per Lütken to enhance its artistic quality and develop into a globally acclaimed brand. Many of its products are made by artisans using the hand-blown technique, highlighting the transparency of the glass and the beauty of its form. Its delicate and functional designs have been certified as a royal purveyor, and it remains popular among collectors and interior enthusiasts. Currently, under the umbrella of the Rosendahl Design Group, the company continues to produce products that combine tradition and modernity.

The Holmegaard "Prince" series was designed by Danish architect Bent O. Severin in 1957 and produced from 1968 onwards. The series is now out of production and only available on the vintage market.
