This Glenturner 21 Year Old Privilege Special Reserve Scotch whisky, originally sold in Japan in the 1980s as a "special grade" whisky, is an extremely rare, vintage-bottled Scotch whisky. Its 21-year aging period suggests that it was distilled and casked before the 1960s. This pure malt (now called a blended malt) is a blend of malts from multiple distilleries. Chief blender John Peterson, once known as the "Magician of Vatting," carefully selected over 60 different malts aged over a long period of time to bring out the rich, deep aroma, full-bodied flavor, and delicate flavor. To maximize the natural flavor and aroma of the malt, the whisky is produced using a "non-chill filtered" process, bypassing the usual chill filtration process, resulting in a smooth mouthfeel and a rich, complex aroma.
