Late 1980s distribution, Armor Single Malt 20 Year Old, 750ml, 43%, Special Grade #122
Armor Single Malt 20 Year Old is a legendary brand that astounded whisky lovers in the Japanese market in the 1980s with the exceptional quality of its raw malt. As indicated by the "Special Grade Whisky" label on the front of the bottle and the standard specifications of 750ml / 43%, which were the standard at the time, this is an extremely rare vintage bottle that was in circulation before the 1989 revision of the Liquor Tax Law.
This masterpiece was bottled by Peter J. Russell, a prestigious independent bottler in Edinburgh, the predecessor of Ian MacLeod, which now owns Glengoyne Distillery and other distilleries. The spirit selected by the company for this release is widely known among enthusiasts as a single malt from Glenfarclas Distillery, a Speyside giant that remains family-run to this day. Aged for an astounding 20 years in carefully selected, top-quality sherry casks, this spirit is truly a supreme liquid, generously crafted from Glenfarclas's proud "golden age stock."
At the time, imports were handled by Kyosei Co., Ltd. in Hachioji, Tokyo, and the whisky was introduced to a limited number of domestic enthusiasts. The back label states that it was a "limited edition of 120 casks," indicating just how rare each drop was. The price at the time of release was strategically set compared to other brands with the same age, but its quality is so high that it would be valued several times higher in the modern whisky market, and it is now revered as "the pinnacle of Speyside sherry from a lost era."
Its aroma and flavor are filled with the rich fragrance and fiery passion that can only be cultivated by long-aged Glenfarclas. Rich dried fruit from the heavy sherry casks, bitter chocolate, and a noble oriental aroma similar to Mizunara oak blend together in layers, perfectly complementing the energy of the 43% alcohol content, which has reached the peak of its maturation. This historical treasure, enclosed in a heavy black cap seal, is more than just a beverage; it is the ultimate collectible piece that will thrill and inspire anyone who holds it in their hands.

- Note 1 : While we carefully select our products, this product may not retain its original quality due to the long time since its manufacture. While this does not significantly affect the flavor or drinkability of the alcohol, there are cases where sediment (a deposit of whiskey components) solidifies and precipitates. Therefore, even if you are not satisfied with the quality, we cannot accept returns or refunds after purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please be aware of this before purchasing.
- Note 2 : Even if an old bottle of whiskey is unopened, the volume may have gradually evaporated over the years and decreased. Our store uses the shoulder line of the bottle as a criterion and only carefully selects products that we deem suitable for sale.
