Distributed in the early 1990s, Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old, 750ml, 43% #123
Since its founding in 1875, Glenglassaugh Distillery has carved out a rich history on the beautiful coastline of the Moray Firth in the Scottish Highlands. This extremely rare vintage bottle of Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old was bottled and distributed from the late 1980s to early 1990s, before the distillery was forced to temporarily close. At the time, imports were handled by Yamaya Co., Ltd., a major importer based in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture. The specifications on the label, "750ml volume / 43% alcohol by volume," convey the elegance of a "good old Highland malt" from before the global single malt boom.
The spirit used in this bottle is a "legacy of the old distillery," distilled before the approximately 22-year hiatus from 1986 to 2008, and has fundamentally different value from the spirits available today after the resumption of production. Even though there was no prospect of a resumption, the blenders at the time refused to compromise, lavishly using carefully selected, top-quality sherry and bourbon cask spirits. The composition of this whiskey is highly acclaimed for its generous vatting of long-aged spirits of around 20 years, far exceeding the 12 years stated on the label, as a secret ingredient.
Its greatest feature is its aroma and flavor, which is imbued with the delicate nuances of sea breeze that are unique to a distillery located on the coast. Poured into a glass, a rich fruity flavor reminiscent of ripe plums and dried fruit spreads, gradually developing into a honeyed sweetness and the fragrant malt aroma characteristic of Highland malt. The 43% alcohol content has evolved through years of bottle aging to a silky smooth mouthfeel, resulting in a long-lasting, rich and elegant finish that cannot be found in current products. Known among whiskey enthusiasts as the "Pearl of the Coast," this old bottle is a living witness to the distillery's turbulent history, boasting an overwhelming level of perfection that can now be called a historical treasure.

- Note 1 : While we carefully select our products, this product may not retain its original quality due to the long time since its manufacture. While this does not significantly affect the flavor or drinkability of the alcohol, there are cases where sediment (a deposit of whiskey components) solidifies and precipitates. Therefore, even if you are not satisfied with the quality, we cannot accept returns or refunds after purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please be aware of this before purchasing.
- Note 2 : Even if an old bottle of whiskey is unopened, the volume may have gradually evaporated over the years and decreased. Our store uses the shoulder line of the bottle as a criterion and only carefully selects products that we deem suitable for sale.
