Founded in 1896, Dufftown Distillery has carved out a rich history as a distillery on the banks of the River Durran in Dufftown, the heart of Speyside. This extremely rare 1000ml (1 litre) big bottle of The Dufftown Glenlivet 10 Years Old, known as the main whisky in the world-famous blended whisky Bell's, was distributed in the Japanese market as a "special grade" brand in the 1980s.

This bottle was bottled directly by Arthur Bell & Sons, the parent company and renowned blender at the time. It bears the "Special Grade Whisky" label, indicating that it was distributed before the revision of the Liquor Tax Law in the late 1980s, and was imported by Kawachiya Shuhan Co., Ltd., a prestigious importer at the time. Its original release price was a premium position due to its large volume and the reliable quality of its 10-year aging, but today's enthusiasts highly value it as a bottle with the powerful and vibrant character unique to the old distilling period, setting it apart from the current "Singleton of Dufftown."

Its aroma and flavor is characterized by a perfect harmony of Dufftown's distinctive floral aroma and the sweetness of ripe nuts and honey typical of Speyside malt. Poured into the glass, the mild yet powerful malt energy emerges, gradually evolving into fruity notes reminiscent of fresh apples and pears. The 43% alcohol content has been mellowed and refined to a silky smooth texture through years of bottle aging. On the palate, the rich, mellow flavor, along with the refreshing sensation nurtured by the renowned waters of Jox Well, leaves a long, elegant finish.

The background of the bottle tells the story of a watermill from the time when the town of Dufftown prospered through oat milling, encapsulating Scottish tradition and pride. The gold cap seal and classic label design depicting beautiful Scottish scenery evoke the era when whiskey was a "special luxury item" every time you pick it up. With the label in exceptionally clear condition and the liquid level well maintained, this one-liter bottle is truly a supreme collector's piece, allowing you to savor a luxurious moment while immersing yourself in the weight of history.

  • Note 1 : While we carefully select our products, this product may not retain its original quality due to the long time since its manufacture. While this does not significantly affect the flavor or drinkability of the alcohol, there are cases where sediment (a deposit of whiskey components) solidifies and precipitates. Therefore, even if you are not satisfied with the quality, we cannot accept returns or refunds after purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please be aware of this before purchasing.
  • Note 2 : Even if an old bottle of whiskey is unopened, the volume may have gradually evaporated over the years and decreased. Our store uses the shoulder line of the bottle as a criterion and only carefully selects products that we deem suitable for sale.
